AN application has been filed on behalf of the widow of calypsonian Leroy 'Black Stalin' Calliste to set aside a default judgment of over $360,000 obtained by a photojournalist, after a picture he shot was used for the promotion of a concert for the calypso icon.
Among the grounds of the application, it was stated that Janet Patricia Calliste is 77 years old, in uncertain health and her failure to file an appearance and defence was unintentional and unknowing of the consequences.
It further stated that she was without means to afford a lawyer and relies on the generosity and goodwill of an attorney to assist.
