Kaieteur News – Bharrat Jaikarran, the father who confessed to killing his six-year-old son, Orlando Jaikarran, was on Friday charged with murder and remanded to prison.
Jaikarran appeared before Magistrate Shareefah Parks at the Weldaad Magistrate’s Court, where he was not required to plead to the indictable offence.
Police Sergeant Edwards, who led the prosecution, told the court that the file was completed and legal advice had been sought. He disclosed that investigations involving another accused in the matter were ongoing and requested that the case be transferred to the Fort Wellington Magistrate’s Court.
