Pan Trinbago proudly hosted the inaugural Steelpan Fusion Fest: A Youth Steel Orchestra Panyard Crawl, a ground-breaking youth empowerment initiative held under the patronage of the President of Pan Trinbago, Mrs. Beverley Ramsey-Moore. The event was held from June 12–22, 2026, and brought together young Steelpan musicians, community leaders, cultural stakeholders, and supporters in a vibrant celebration of talent, innovation, resilience, and the enduring strength of the Steelpan movement.
Through its Youth Arm, Pan Trinbago facilitated the registration of 33 Youth Steel Orchestras nationwide. Of these, 31 Youth Steel Orchestras participated in the inaugural Steelpan Fusion Fest: A Youth Steel Orchestra Panyard Crawl. Over the course of the initiative, Pan Trinbago visited 31 communities across its four regions: Eastern, Northern, South/Central, and Tobago, including 27 communities in Trinidad and 4 in Tobago. The programme engaged more than 800 young Steelpan players, showcasing the remarkable talent, creativity, innovation, and resilience of the next generation of Steelpan musicians.
As the first event of its kind, Steelpan Fusion Fest was designed not only to provide a unique cultural and educational experience but also to demonstrate the resilience, growth, and sustainability of the national Steelpan movement. Patrons were afforded the opportunity to participate in an authentic Steelpan Panyard crawl, visiting multiple communities and experiencing first-hand the energy, creativity, and community spirit that continue to define the Steelpan culture.
