Police shot and killed a man during a confrontation in Longdenville last night, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said.
According to the TTPS, around 10 p.m., officers from the Longdenville Police Post and the Central Division Task Force (CDTF) North were on patrol along Longdenville Old Road when they stopped a suspicious white Nissan Tiida.
One of the occupants, identified as priority firearm offender Nathaniel Gittens, allegedly opened fire on the officers. Police returned fire, hitting Gittens.
