The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says it is prepared to manage the phased release of people previously held under Preventive Detention Orders.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Suzette Martin, says the TTPS has made the necessary operational preparations to maintain public safety during the transition.
She says divisions, intelligence, investigative and operational units remain coordinated, with policing guided by intelligence, evidence and the law.
