The strike carried out by the US military on a vessel in the southern Caribbean last week, which killed 11 men Washington branded ‘narco-terrorists’, has left behind more questions than answers over the precise location of the strike, the identities of the men on board, and whether its cargo was ever bound for Trinidad and Tobago.
Without an official answer on where exactly the US military aircraft fired against the vessel, other than media reports that it might have departed from a small Venezuelan coastal town just off Trinidad’s North Coast, much of the country’s fisherfolk have expressed concern for their safety.
Some have even been advised to refrain from heading out to sea until further clarification comes.
