(Kaieteur News) – The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) is seeking public feedback on its draft Glossary of Ethnically Sensitive Terms as it advances discussions on constitutional reform and examines ways to strengthen its mandate.
The Commission on Tuesday convened a Constituency Consultation on Constitutional Reform at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), Liliendaal, bringing together representatives from its 10 constituencies, civil society, the Diplomatic Corps, sister constitutional commissions, members of the public and other stakeholders.
The consultation examined how Guyana’s constitutional framework could be strengthened to promote equality of opportunity, eliminate discrimination, foster ethnic security, encourage meaningful participation in national life and promote harmonious relations among all ethnic groups.
