The Assembly of Southern Lawyers (ASL) has written Chief Justice Ivor Archie claiming the untimely handling of matters including domestic violence and divorce cases by the masters at the High Court.
The ASL called for the Judicial and Legal Service Commission’s urgent intervention.
Noting that the increase in masters at the Family Court was originally intended to alleviate the caseload of judges, ASL president Saira Lakhan said that reports from members at the northern and southern divisions of the Family Court have stated that this objective has failed.
