A BUSINESSWOMAN is suing the Office of the Attorney General and a Fraud Squad officer over her prosecution on 13 charges, claiming the proceedings and publicity surrounding them caused extensive damage to her businesses, reputation and family.
Nicole Crystal George, director of NCG Enterprises Ltd, filed a statement of case in the High Court earlier this week against the State, and PC Dion Hernandez. George is seeking general, special, aggravated and exemplary damages, together with interest and legal costs.
The statement of case does not specify the dollar figure being sought; however, it outlines financial losses and liabilities running into tens of millions of dollars, which George claims followed the criminal proceedings.
