KINGSTON, Jamaica — Digicel Jamaica is warning the public about a fraudulent cash promotion circulating under the company’s name and brand, falsely offering J$15,000 to mark National Heroes’ Day.
In a release on Saturday, the telecommunications company said it had no association with the promotion, describing it as fraudulent, unauthorised and misleading.
Digicel Jamaica Chief Executive Officer Stephen Murad warned that the scheme could expose members of the public to financial loss and the theft of personal information, particularly those vulnerable to online scams.
