Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reminding customers and members of the public to exercise caution when conducting business online and to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes designed to obtain personal information or payments through illegitimate channels.
This advisory follows a recent scam attempt involving a fake website falsely claiming to facilitate the payment of traffic ticket fines and another attempt to mislead customers during the income tax filing period. TAJ is emphasising that its official website is https://www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, and customers should ensure they are accessing this address directly when conducting any online transaction with the organisation.
In a release, the tax authority assured customers that its online services “are delivered through a secure platform that incorporates several layers of security to protect taxpayer and customer information”.
