(Kaieteur News) – Defence attorneys representing three Venezuelan nationals charged in connection with the October 2025 fatal gas station bombing made formal no-case submissions on Wednesday, arguing that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against their clients.
The submissions were presented as paper committal proceedings resumed before acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
The three accused, Jhonny Boodram, Krystal La Cruz, and Alexander Bettencourt, are jointly charged with terrorism alongside the prime suspect, Daniel Alexander Ramirez Peodemo. The charges stem from the explosion at the Mobil gas station on Regent Street, which claimed the life of six-year-old Soraya Bourne and left several others injured.
