HomeÂland SeÂcuÂriÂty MinÂisÂter Roger AlexanÂder has conÂfirmed that apÂproxÂiÂmateÂly 3,000 body camÂeras have been reÂquestÂed for full deÂployÂment across law enÂforceÂment agenÂcies. He notÂed that, as of now, 970 body camÂeras are in acÂtive use by memÂbers of the T&T PoÂlice SerÂvice.
ConÂfirmÂing 3,000 body camÂeras had been reÂquestÂed, AlexanÂder said 970 body camÂeras are presentÂly workÂing.
AlexanÂder was speakÂing durÂing yesÂterÂdayâs StandÂing FiÂnance ComÂmitÂtee (SFC), where $119,117,400 was reÂquestÂed in adÂdiÂtionÂal fundÂing for the TTPS. He stressed that the funds would adÂdress exÂistÂing obligÂaÂtions arisÂing from a shortÂfall in the fisÂcal 2025 alÂloÂcaÂtion and would not fiÂnance any new projects.
