A man was found murdered in the driver’s seat of an Audi sedan parked along a remote roadway in Carlsen Field, an area near Chaguanas that has seen a disturbing spike in violent crime in recent months.
The discovery was made shortly before nightfall on Monday, after residents reported hearing a volley of gunshots and witnessing several vehicles speeding away from the area. On investigation, they found the Audi parked with its running lights still on.
Inside the vehicle, the man, who was casually dressed, was seen slumped over the centre console, his body bearing multiple gunshot wounds. A bullet hole was visible in the driver’s side door, and the window was rolled down, suggesting he may have been ambushed at close range.
