A TT RIDESHARE driver escaped a robbery ambush in Laventille on Saturday night after using his vehicle to hit one of his attackers, who was later taken into police custody.
The 29-year-old driver told police the other suspect opened fire on his vehicle during the ordeal, which police believe may have been a planned set-up involving two passengers.
According to investigators, the driver, who was operating a white MG vehicle, picked up two women on Independence Square, Port of Spain, shortly after 9.15 p.m.
