KSAMC to tighten enforcement of no-sign zones amid public safety concerns, party promoters warned

Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby says the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) is to get tough on the growing number of signs and billboards in sections of the Corporate Area, arguing that they pose a risk to public order and safety.

Swaby said of particular concern are signs for parties, especially along popular roadways.

“Excessive and improperly positioned signs, such as those seen at Matilda’s Corner, West Kings House Road and Constant Spring Road, and other areas, can affect motorists’ visibility, obstruct sidewalks, and create difficulties for persons with disabilities using public spaces.”
