LOCAL Government Minister Khadijah Ameen, who is currently on an official visit to Japan accompanied by her son, Jeremiah, has clarified that she footed the bills so that he could join her on the trip.
Ameen's visit to the East Asian country came under scrutiny at the weekend, when she posted photos of activities with her son to her private social media pages.
In response to questions whether taxpayers' money was used to fund her son's trip, Ameen earlier this week clarified that her son was her travelling companion on the trip and that she bore the cost privately.
