RurĀal DeĀvelĀopĀment and LoĀcal GovĀernĀment MinĀisĀter KhadiĀjah Ameen has sought to disĀpel quesĀtions over her deĀciĀsion to travĀel to Japan with her son, JeĀreĀmiĀah, afĀter phoĀtos she shared on soĀcial meĀdia showed the pair toĀgethĀer durĀing her visĀit, promptĀing specĀuĀlaĀtion over whether pubĀlic funds were used to fiĀnance his trip.
Ameen is in Japan on an ofĀfiĀcial visĀit at the inĀviĀtaĀtion of the JapanĀese govĀernĀment, which she said is covĀerĀing the cost of her travĀel.
ReĀspondĀing to quesĀtions from Guardian MeĀdia, Ameen said, āThe trip is of no cost to the govĀernĀment of T&T. I am here on the inĀviĀtaĀtion of the govĀernĀment of Japan and my exĀpensĀes are fundĀed by Japan. All of my sonās exĀpensĀes such as flight, acĀcomĀmoĀdaĀtion, meals etc are fulĀly covĀered priĀvateĀly by myĀself from perĀsonĀal funds.ā
