The Eu­ro­pean Union Del­e­ga­tion to Trinidad and To­ba­go has an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Am­bas­sador Ce­cile Tassin as the new Eu­ro­pean Union Am­bas­sador to Trinidad and To­ba­go. Am­bas­sador Tassin pre­sent­ed her cre­den­tials to Pres­i­dent Chris­tine Car­la Kan­ga­loo, ORTT, fol­low­ing a cour­tesy call to the Min­istry of For­eign and CARI­COM Af­fairs.

Am­bas­sador Tassin suc­ceeds Am­bas­sador Pe­ter Cavendish, who re­tired at the end of Au­gust. She brings three decades of ex­pe­ri­ence with­in the Eu­ro­pean Union. She has held po­si­tions at the Eu­ro­pean Com­mis­sion head­quar­ters in Brus­sels and in EU Del­e­ga­tions world­wide, in­clud­ing Africa and the Caribbean.

Be­fore her cur­rent as­sign­ment, Am­bas­sador Tassin served as Ad­vi­sor to the Africa Di­rec­tor in the Di­rec­torate-Gen­er­al for In­ter­na­tion­al Part­ner­ships of the Eu­ro­pean Com­mis­sion in Brus­sels. She has ex­pe­ri­ence in in­ter­na­tion­al re­la­tions and diplo­mat­ic prac­tices.
