The PresĀiĀdent of the NaĀtionĀal CounĀcil of InĀdiĀan CulĀture (NCIC) has passed away. InĀdeĀpenĀdent SenĀaĀtor DeĀoroop Teemal, aged 69, died around 1 am on SunĀday 3 AuĀgust 2025.
SuĀruĀjdeo ManĀgaĀroo, First Vice-PresĀiĀdent of the NCIC, deĀscribed SenĀaĀtor Teemalās passĀing as a tremenĀdous loss to the deĀvelĀopĀment of InĀdiĀan culĀture in Trinidad and ToĀbaĀgo. ManĀgaĀroo statĀed that Teemal had been unĀwell over the past week and passed away at his home on Sankar Street, St AuĀgusĀtine.
