Parents demand probe after 11-day-old baby dies at NA Hospital

(Kaieteur News) – A Rosignol, West Bank Berbice couple is demanding an investigation into the death of their 11-day-old son, who died at the New Amsterdam Hospital, Region Six, on Thursday, under circumstances that have left them searching for answers.

Bibi Samed, 32, and her husband, Delon Thomas, 53, welcomed their baby boy on October 18. However, what should have been a period of joy for the family has turned into grief following the newborn’s death after spending 11 days at the medical facility.

According to information reaching Kaieteur News, the baby remained under medical care at the hospital from birth because he reportedly had an infection which required treatment.
