South and Central business chambers have raised an alarm following US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose a 15% tariff on all imports originating from Trinidad and Tobago.
The increase in the tariff rate, which rose from 10% in April, will come into effect on August 7.
Trinidad and Tobago is one of several countries that will see increased tariff rates.
