A Black Rock man was held by police yesterday in connection with the failed heist of a First Citizens ATM (automated teller machine) by five men who stole an excavator and used it to tear through a wall to get to the money-dispensing machine in Plymouth.
Around 2 a.m. yesterday, the five men arrived at the ATM, located at Supreme Plaza, along Shelbourne Street.
They used the stolen excavator to rip off the door of the ATM enclosure and extract the machine containing the cash.
