(Kaieteur News) – In a video excerpt on his Facebook page, David Hinds said that one of the lessons of Kwayana, during ‘that’ period, was that he refused to compete with Mr. Burnham. One can only presume that he was referring to the period between 1961 and 1973.
That statement could convey the impression that nothing Burnham did during that period was opposed by Kwayana. And that would be inaccurate. Kwayana, himself has conceded, “I [Kwayana] was one of those who resisted that ruler vigorously in his lifetime on grounds not discredited.”
