With the tabling of the NiQuan report in Parliament on the second anniversary of the death of Allanlane Ramkissoon, his family is hoping to get closure. But they said there has to be accountability for his death.
Ramkissoon, 35, a plant fitter at Massy Energy Engineered Solutions Ltd (MEES), was conducting maintenance work at NiQuan’s gas-to-liquids plant at Pointe-a-Pierre when an explosion occurred on June 15, 2023. He was flown from a local private medical institution to Colombia for treatment, but died three days later.
His wife, Sarah Ramkissoon, filed a judicial review claim after her request for information into his death under the Freedom of Information Act was denied.
