Trinidad and To­ba­go reaf­firmed its com­mit­ment to co­op­er­a­tion with the Re­pub­lic of In­dia dur­ing the AI Im­pact Sum­mit 2026 held from 18-20 Feb­ru­ary in In­dia.

Do­minic Smith, Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Ad­min­is­tra­tion and Ar­ti­fi­cial In­tel­li­gence, rep­re­sent­ed Trinidad and To­ba­go at the Sum­mit. The event con­vened Heads of Gov­ern­ment, Min­is­ters, tech­nol­o­gy ex­ec­u­tives, and pol­i­cy lead­ers to ex­am­ine the im­pact of ar­ti­fi­cial in­tel­li­gence on gov­er­nance, eco­nom­ic re­silience, and sus­tain­able de­vel­op­ment.

Smith’s par­tic­i­pa­tion fo­cused on col­lab­o­ra­tion in large-scale dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion of pub­lic ser­vices, de­vel­op­ment of se­cure dig­i­tal in­fra­struc­ture, eth­i­cal AI adop­tion frame­works, and sov­er­eign da­ta gov­er­nance.
