Three people are expected to appear before the Siparia Magistrates’ Court today charged with a series of serious offences arising out of allegations that a woman was held against her will and subjected to prolonged abuse over several years.
The accused are Fareeda Balgobin, Joshua Benny and Rohit Sitahal.
According to police, the charges stem from a report made by a woman who alleged that she was unlawfully confined and abused between June 2019 and April 11, 2026.
