A 38-year-old man was fatally shot outside his apartment in D'Abadie just hours before he was scheduled to appear in court.

The victim, Isaiah Garcia, was found dead along the roadway near his rented apartment at First Street West, Recreation Road, at 7:15 a.m.

Police reported that residents heard several gunshots, and officers responding to the scene discovered Garcia lying on the road with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
