A POLICE officer yesterday fatally shot his neighbour while in his (the officer’s) yard.

It was around 7 a.m. that the policeman, who is on leave, arrived at his Darsan Trace, Siparia, home and he was approached by his neighbour, Zane Bowen, who allegedly had a cutlass and a piece of wood.

The two had an altercation and the officer was allegedly followed and attacked in his yard. The officer, who is on injury leave and the holder of a firearm user’s licence, shot Bowen several times. He died at the scene.
