(Kaieteur News) – A 36-year-old labourer of Hogg Street, Albouystown, has been charged with Attempt to Obstruct the Course of Justice following investigations into the alleged murder of Daintier Vegas Infante.
Junior Callender was arrested on Wednesday, June 18, 2026, and formally charged the following day, Thursday. He faces one count of Attempt to Obstruct the Course of Justice, contrary to Section 330 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The charge arises from ongoing investigations into the death of Infante, who was allegedly murdered on Saturday, May 10, 2026, at Forshaw Street, Alberttown. Investigators allege that Callender attempted to obstruct the course of justice by falsely implicating himself in the matter, purportedly in a deliberate effort to assume responsibility on behalf of a wanted individual connected to the murder investigation.
