The driver who was taken into custody at the scene of Friday’s road traffic accident in Penal which claimed the life of Habib John appeared before the court charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Mervyn Joseph was fined and disqualified from driving.
Joseph, 33 of Penal, appeared before magistrate Alexander Prince on Tuesday at the Siparia Court, and pleaded guilty to the offence laid by Sergeant Monsegue.
