A Mt Lambert couple who operate a mini-mart from their home have been charged with marijuana possession for the purpose of trafficking, after allegations they were selling drugs to schoolchildren.
The 78-year-old man and his 49-year-old wife were arrested following a search of their property around 2.25 pm on Wednesday, during which time officers found 1,097 grammes of marijuana.
Acting on information, PC Bandoo and a team from the North Eastern Division Gang & Investigations Unit visited Blue’s Mini Mart on Circular Road, Mt Lambert, and conducted a comprehensive search in front of the couple.
