The removal of Justice Chile Eboe-ĀOsuji from the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) panel hearing DāAlmada v TT, Jamaica and Caricom by CCJ president Justice Winston Anderson has triggered criticism and confusion among fellow judges.
The directive was delivered without explanation by Justice Anderson in an e-mail dated June 26, 2026, to Justices Chile Eboe-Osuji and Arif Bulkan, advising that he had ādetermined that a change in the panelā to hear the DāAlmada v TT, Jamaica and Caricom case was ādesirableā.
Justice Anderson instead named Justices Denys Barrow, Maureen RajĀnauth-Lee, Chantal Ononaiwu, Arif Bulkan and himself to hear the matter.
