The removal of Justice Chile Eboe-­Osuji from the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) panel hearing D’Almada v TT, Jamaica and Caricom by CCJ president Justice Winston Anderson has triggered criticism and confusion among fellow judges.

The directive was delivered without explanation by Justice Anderson in an e-mail dated June 26, 2026, to Justices Chile Eboe-Osuji and Arif Bulkan, advising that he had “determined that a change in the panel” to hear the D’Almada v TT, Jamaica and Caricom case was “desirable”.

Justice Anderson instead named Justices Denys Barrow, Maureen Raj­nauth-Lee, Chantal Ononaiwu, Arif Bulkan and himself to hear the matter.
