As PresÂiÂdent DonÂald Trump foÂcusÂes on globÂal trade deals and disÂpatchÂing troops to aid his imÂmiÂgraÂtion crackÂdown, his lawyers are fightÂing to erase the hush monÂey crimÂiÂnal conÂvicÂtion that puncÂtuÂatÂed his reÂelecÂtion camÂpaign last year and made him the first forÂmer â and now curÂrent â U.S. presÂiÂdent found guilty of a crime.
On WednesÂday, that fight landÂed in a fedÂerÂal apÂpeals court in ManÂhatÂtan, where a three-judge panÂel heard arÂguÂments in Trumpâs long-runÂning bid to get the New York case moved from state court to fedÂerÂal court so he can then seek to have it thrown out on presÂiÂdenÂtial imÂmuÂniÂty grounds.
