A PRISON term of just over 17 years has been imposed on a Manzanilla man after he confessed to taking part in the drowning death of another man in 2014.
Taking into consideration however that the convict, Arnold Ashton, has been in custody for more than 11 years, he was left with a final sentence of six years, five months, and 17 days to serve before release.
On Friday Justice Gail Gonzales imposed sentence on Ashton for the felony murder of sawmill operator John Ramoutar, 62, on July 22, 2014.
