“A beautiful People’s National Movement (PNM) crowd.”
So said PNM general secretary and Member of Parliament for La Horquetta/Talparo Foster Cummings as he addressed the massive gathering for the presentation of the party’s 41 candidates at “The University of Woodford Square” in Port of Spain, yesterday. His face was a portrait of smug satisfaction as he surveyed supporters who were waving a bunting of PNM flags, among the tall trees.
Braving blazing sunshine, die-hard PNM supporters came from the East, West, North and South to celebrate and witness the presentation of candidates for the 41 constituencies in the upcoming general election. More importantly, they were excited to be part of the historic day when Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley delivered his last feature address and formally introduced PM-in-waiting/Energy Minister Stuart Young who is to be sworn in today by President Christine Kangaloo.
