The Na­tion­al Trust of Trinidad and To­ba­go is invit­ing the pub­lic to cel­e­brate World Steel­pan Day 2026 with an af­ter­noon of mu­sic, cul­ture and his­to­ry at Mille Fleurs in Port-of-Spain on Sat­ur­day.

The event, ti­tled PAN Her­itage: The Ex­pe­ri­ence, will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is de­signed to show­case the evo­lu­tion of the steel­pan while high­light­ing the cul­tur­al tra­di­tions that gave rise to Trinidad and To­ba­go's na­tion­al in­stru­ment.

The fam­i­ly-friend­ly event will fea­ture live steel­pan per­for­mances by lo­cal mu­si­cians, in­ter­ac­tive work­shops for peo­ple of all ages and a her­itage ex­hi­bi­tion trac­ing the de­vel­op­ment of the in­stru­ment from its ear­ly be­gin­nings to its glob­al recog­ni­tion.
