MORE than 100 young Jamaicans from communities across Kingston and St Andrew were hosted at Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) on August 12 for an International Youth Day experience.
Held under the theme ‘Different Communities. One Digital Future’, the initiative was spearheaded by Grace & Staff Community Development Foundation, in partnership with CMU and the Ministry of Education, Youth, Skills and Information, to help prepare young Jamaicans for a rapidly evolving digital landscape by exploring technology, innovation, and career opportunities.
During an interactive panel discussion about how technology is transforming education, the workplace and everyday life, participants were encouraged to consider the responsible and productive use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the skills and adaptability needed for the future of work.
