Firefighters on Friday responded to a report of a grass fire at Lot 247 West Front Road, East La Penitence, Georgetown, only to find the upper floor of a building at the location engulfed in flames.
According to the Guyana Fire Service (GFS), firefighters arrived at the scene and quickly moved to extinguish the blaze, preventing further spread of the fire.
The upper floor of the building sustained severe damage as a result of the fire, while the lower floor suffered minor water damage during firefighting operations.
