President Christine Carla Kangaloo ORTT is calling on citizens to embrace “mental emancipation” as Trinidad and Tobago marks African Emancipation Day 2026. In her national message, she reflected on the enduring legacy of emancipation, urging the country to reject racism, prejudice and exclusion while working towards a society where freedom, dignity and equality are fully realised.
