PRIME Minister Kamla Persad- Bissessar yesterday issued a stern warning to administrators at The University of the West Indies (The UWI) over the long-delayed opening of its Penal- Debe campus, telling them: 'Don't test me.'
Describing the failure to open the campus over the past decade as a 'betrayal', Persad- Bissessar urged the administrators to step aside and allow her Government to take charge of the long-overdue opening.
She addressed the issue yesterday during a post-Cabinet media briefing at the Red House in Port of Spain, where she criticised the university for its recent statements concerning its attempt to steer the opening of the South campus.
