The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arm of the Guyana Fire Service has successfully delivered nine babies so far in 2026, including seven girls and two boys, as its Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) continue to provide pre-hospital care across the country.
According to the Guyana Fire Service in a social media post on Wednesday, seven of the deliveries were recorded in A Division, while two occurred in C Division.
In each case, the babies were delivered by trained EMS personnel while the mothers were being transported by ambulance to hospital.
