...CWU welcomes assurances over workers’ jobs

The Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) says formal confirmation from e TecK has provided Hilton Trinidad & Conference Centre employees with important assurances concerning their jobs.

The union said yesterday the assurances covered continuity of service, salaries and benefits, union representation, the continued operation of the hotel and Hilton’s continuation as hotel manager.

However, the CWU said it will remain vigilant in protecting the rights and interests of every worker and ensuring that the commitments now formally placed on record are honoured “in both word and practice”.
