Ef­fec­tive Sep­tem­ber 2, 2025, the De­part­ment of State will up­date the cat­e­gories of ap­pli­cants who may be el­i­gi­ble for a waiv­er of the non-im­mi­grant visa in­ter­view, a re­lease from the U.S. Em­bassy in Port of Spain has con­firmed.

The gen­er­al pol­i­cy is that all non-im­mi­grant visa ap­pli­cants, in­clud­ing ap­pli­cants un­der the age of 14 and over the age of 79, will gen­er­al­ly re­quire an in-per­son in­ter­view with a con­sular of­fi­cer.
