The Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs has confirmed that the Embassy of the United States of America has officially resumed processing student visa applications for international students planning to pursue academic programmes in the United States.
This follows the end of a temporary suspension on student visa appointments, which had been in place since May 2025. The ministry welcomed the development, acknowledging its importance to nationals who have secured admission to accredited institutions across the US.
The statement said applicants for student visas—specifically the F-1, M-1, and J-1 categories—are strongly encouraged to carefully follow all official guidelines issued by the US Department of State. Particular attention should be paid to any requirements related to social media account accessibility and other supporting documentation.
