The newly commissioned Elmina Clarke-Allen Highway should provide a faster commuting route for Sangre Grande residents, says Works and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan.
The new highway was commissioned with the unveiling yesterday of a commemorative plaque and the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon by Prime Minister Stuart Young and Minister Sinanan along the highway in Cumuto.
The highway is named after the former senator and minister under the People’s National Movement (PNM) government from 1976 to 1981, and later on MP for Toco/Manzanilla and minister from 1981 to 1986.
