CONVICTED killer Rishi Motilal, who was sentenced to death for the murder of his common-law wife and their infant daughter, has filed a notice of appeal against his conviction.

Court records show that the notice of appeal was filed on Monday, just about two weeks after Motilal was sentenced following a judgealone trial.

Motilal, also known as 'Cook Meat', was convicted on April 27 of murdering 31-year-old Tara 'Geeta' Ramsaroop and their 14-month-old daughter, Shermaya Motilal. Justice Nalini Singh imposed the mandatory death sentence for the two counts of murder.
