OpĀpoĀsiĀtion Leader and PeoĀpleās NaĀtionĀal MoveĀment (PNM) leader PenĀneĀlope BeckĀles has paid tribĀute to FerĀdie FerĀreira, deĀscribĀing his passĀing as a āproĀfound lossā for Trinidad and ToĀbaĀgo and the PNM.
In a soĀcial meĀdia post, BeckĀles said she drew comĀfort from Psalm 116:15: āPreĀcious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithĀful serĀvants.ā She deĀscribed FerĀreira as a life-long serĀvant of the counĀtry, a man of inĀtegriĀty and deĀvoĀtion, and praised his conĀtriĀbuĀtions to pubĀlic life.
Born in 1932, FerĀreira rose from humĀble beĀginĀnings on DunĀdonĀald Street to beĀcome a foundĀing memĀber of the PNM. He served as ElecĀtions OfĀfiĀcer and Labour ReĀlaĀtions OfĀfiĀcer and was a trustĀed adĀviĀsor to Dr. ErĀic Williams and subĀseĀquent parĀty leadĀers.
