In an oral rulÂing deÂlivÂered yesÂterÂday, High Court Judge Frank SeepÂerÂsad found that SharmiÂla RamÂroop is liÂable for $125,000, the reÂmainÂing balÂance on a $250,000 loan.
Siparia busiÂnessÂman GerÂard Tang Foon brought the claim against RamÂroop, statÂing that he had enÂtered inÂto an inÂvestÂment agreeÂment in 2021 with her and her then-partÂner, Farand DeÂoÂnanan, for the latÂter’s taxi serÂvice comÂpaÂny, PackÂage Taxi Ltd. RamÂroop actÂed as guarÂanÂtor for the loan.
