The Fujian Association of Guyana on Wednesday handed over $3.2 million to the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) to support those affected by the MV Barima tragedy.
The donation was made possible through the contribution of Fujian entrepreneurs in Guyana, in both their personal and corporate capacities.
The donation, the CDC stated, reflects the strong spirit of unity and social responsibility within the Chinese community, and demonstrates the care and commitment of the Chinese people in Guyana. It also serves as a testament to the enduring friendship between the peoples of China and Guyana.
